He was a relative of the better-known Charles Robert West, who had almost the same name.

Metal container

Metal container with lid and curved side handle for easy grip. It consists of a slightly tapered ring base, a globular body that tapers to a cylindrical shape at the top; it has a slightly protruding rim and is closed by a hemispherical lid, also with a protruding rim that fits exactly with the edge of the container. The side handle is fixed with protruding bolts, at the bottom of the globular body and at the top near the rim; it also has an additional metal element with one end fixed by bolts to the lid and the other curled and welded to the handle, which makes it easier to open the lid without having to remove it. There are some marks and slight dents on the cylindrical neck and lid.
